One client came to us with a challenge we see often in highly regulated environments: the constant tension between collecting complete compliance data and keeping event registration simple enough that people actually finish it.
They wanted strong, reliable attendee data for reporting—but they didn’t want self-registration forms so long or restrictive that HCPs and attendees abandoned them altogether. Instead, their preference was to shift most of that responsibility to the sales rep during post-event attendee reconciliation, where there’s more context and accountability.
The challenge was visibility. If compliance fields weren’t required at registration, how could a rep quickly tell whether all required information had been collected for each attendee—without opening every profile one by one?
We solved this by stepping back and focusing on the rep’s workflow.
We introduced an attendee-level compliance indicator that dynamically evaluates all fields the client designates as compliance-mandated. Those fields can vary based on attendee type and other rules, but the output is simple: a clear yes-or-no indicator showing whether the attendee is compliant. That status appears directly in the Attendees grid on the event, allowing reps to scan the list and immediately see which profiles need attention.
To further guide data collection, optional visual compliance badges can appear directly on designated fields within the attendee form—only where and when they make sense. Importantly, none of these fields are required to save the profile, preserving flexibility while still ensuring compliance completeness can be tracked and verified.
The result is a cleaner registration experience for attendees, faster reconciliation for reps, and higher-quality compliance data overall—without forcing tradeoffs.
The takeaway? The best compliance solutions don’t create friction. They create clarity.
